Please reach us at hvt@chillproofinc.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
HVT is a Family Friendly establishment that offers a wide variety of classic board games, kid friendly menu options and casual, open space for everyone.
With that being said, due to the nature of our space-- Hop & Vine Taproom abides with a 21+ ONLY patronage policy after 8PM.
We will never "rush" you out-- but we want to ensure the safety of our littlest patrons. We have found that kids and large groups of self-serving adults don't mix.
Please ensure to do your very best to plan your HVT experience around this restriction.
NO!
While this option is encouraged and highlighted to assist with quick, easy, self-service check-out, we understand that this option isn't for everyone.
Feel free to check out traditionally at the end of your visit by visiting the host stand on your way out.
Like any other food/beverage establishment, our staff do rely on tips. While our friendly staff are not placed in the traditional "take your order" or "serve your drinks role", they are ensuring accurate delivery of food to your table, properly "bussed" and cleaned tables, keeping your beer/wine glasses clean, polishing your silverware, assisting you at the tap wall for your perfect pouring and food ordering experience, making sure the taproom is spotless, your darts are locked and loaded, your games are cleaned and organized, your kegs are tapped and your tabs are started.
A lot happens behind the scenes to keep this place running smoothly. If you feel as though a tip is not necessary, please check out with at the host stand or at the bar, where you may check out in the traditional manner.
The short answer is NO! The state mandates we review, and reactivate your card at 32 ounces of beer or 10 ounces of wine.
While navigating the Taproom, your pour card will prompt you once you have reached either 32 ounces of beer or 10 ounces of wine. At this point, just give one of our friendly crew members a nod, and they will come over, say hi, check in on your experience and reactivate your card. It's a brief 10 -15 second process and serves as a "check-in" to ensure your safety as well as the safety of our other patrons and staff.
Think of it as a sobriety check-point. The State of Connecticut has written this into the law that allowed self-pouring technology in the Nutmeg State due to the nature of the service. When you sit down at a traditional restaurant or bar, your server or bartender is doing this already by way of their interactions-- ie. a brief conversation and/or visual cues that indicate inebriation or intoxication.
We reserve the right to deactivate your card, refuse to re-activate, or ask you to leave the taproom should you become unruly or uncooperative. While these are "last resort" options, they do happen. We have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy in regard to the harassment, touching, yelling, cursing, or otherwise disrespect of our staff or other patrons. The taproom does staff Security nightly and we will gladly assist with a taxi, calling a friend or family member if you feel unsafe or WE feel that it is unsafe for you to leave if you are not in a proper decision-making capacity.
